We’re pleased to have been given additional resources to employ a new team member through the Government’s Kickstart Scheme which provides funding to create new jobs and training opportunities for 16 to 24 year olds. Aqilah Mohammed is a qualified person centred counsellor who’s passion has always been to help people. She has volunteered for many charities including SKT Welfare, Organic Soul, Global Rahman Relief and others and won the ‘Youth of the Year’ award from One Voice in 2015 for her charitable efforts.

Aqilah says:

‘I’m looking forward to gaining new skills in a variety of different areas and meeting new people. What I like about the building is the beautiful architecture and how it is rich in history and culture. I’m feeling positive about the future of Blackburn as it is already quite diverse and I’m hoping we can all learn from each other and each others cultures and work together to build community cohesion.’
