The Chair of Re:Source, JJ McGregor has written to stakeholders thanking them for supporting our bid to National Lottery Heritage Fund. The application for £4.6m was endorsed by many leaders of key partner organisations including Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, Blackburn Youth Zone, One Voice, National Festival of Making, Blackburn Buisiness Improvement District, Super Slow Way, Blackburn Library and many others.

JJ writes:

Dear friends and supporters,

As we await the outcome of our recent application to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, I want to take a moment to thank you, sincerely, for the encouragement, advice, and generosity you’ve shown throughout this stage of The Exchange project.

Bringing together the material for such a major submission has been a collective effort in every sense. Your letters of support, professional guidance, financial contributions, creative ideas, and at times honest challenge have all helped to shape a stronger proposal, and a shared vision we can all be proud of.

Whatever the result, this has been a moment of collaboration across so many individuals and organisations who believe in the potential of The Exchange to serve Blackburn and beyond. Your support reminds us that this project is about more than restoring a building, it’s about rekindling civic pride, creativity, and community connection.

With thanks and appreciation,
JJ McGregor
