Plans to open the new Exchange Tower at The Exchange in Blackburn have been pushed back to 2026 due to unexpected complications installing a new lift in the latest £1.5m renovations.
Trustee Dr Alastair Murdoch explains:
“The roof, stairs, toilets, and entrance will all be completed in time for Christmas – a fantastic achievement. However, some unexpected challenges during the excavation for the new lift have slightly delayed full access. The good news is that these hurdles are now behind us, and the lift is on track for installation by the end of February.”
In the meantime, we’re already looking ahead with great excitement. The first official event will be One Voice Blackburn’s Annual Dinner in late March, followed by an official opening later in the spring. We can’t wait to welcome you into this remarkable space.
